VERDICT

Trial
11/04/25 – 11/26/25

Summary

In this tobacco litigation, plaintiff, the family member of a long-time smoker, claims that defendant cigarette manufacturers are responsible for the smoker's lung cancer death, by manufacturing a defectively designed, dangerous addictive product, and by concealing its dangers. Plaintiff also claims that a grocer that sold those cigarettes to the smoker is at fault.

The cigarette manufacturers contend that that their products are not defectively designed, because dangers of cigarettes are inherent to the product. They also contend that the smoker continued to smoker, despite knowing the dangers of cigarettes, and did not do enough to try to quit smoking in time to avoid her disease.
